How it works
Calculate tile quantity from area, tile size and waste allowance.
Estimating method: Adjusted area = area × (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100). Tiles = adjusted area ÷ tile area, rounded up.
Worked example
10 m², 600 × 300 mm tiles and 10% waste gives 62 tiles.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting tile size is often in millimetres.
- Not allowing extra for cuts and breakages.
- Not checking batch numbers.
