Estimate resin material cost from resin used, bottle size, bottle price and waste.

Estimating method: Cost = resin used with waste ÷ bottle volume × bottle price.

Worked example

80 ml with 10% waste from a 1000 ml bottle costing £30 costs about £2.64.

Common mistakes
  • Ignoring supports and failed prints.
  • Not allowing resin trapped on the print.
  • Forgetting gloves, IPA and consumables.
