How it works

Estimate turf rolls from lawn area, roll coverage and waste allowance.

Estimating method: Adjusted lawn area = lawn area × (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100). Rolls = adjusted lawn area ÷ roll coverage, rounded up.

Worked example

40 m² with 5% waste is 42 m². If each roll covers 1 m², buy 42 rolls.

  • Not checking supplier roll coverage.
  • Ordering turf too early before the ground is ready.
  • Forgetting awkward edges and cuts.
