How it works
Split a bill evenly between people, with optional tip or service charge.
Comparison method: Tip amount = bill amount × tip percentage ÷ 100. Total = bill amount + tip amount. Each person pays = total ÷ number of people.
Worked example
£64 with 10% tip is £70.40. Split between 4 people, each pays £17.60.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting service charge already included.
- Rounding each person too early.
- Splitting unequally when someone ordered much more.
