How it works

Estimate skirting board length and board count from room perimeter, door openings, board length and waste.

Estimating method: Net length = room perimeter − door openings. Adjusted length = net length × (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100). Boards = adjusted length ÷ board length, rounded up.

Worked example

A 14 m room perimeter with one 0.8 m doorway leaves 13.2 m. With 10% waste and 2.4 m boards, buy 7 boards.
