How it works

Calculate percentages, percentage of a value, and how one number compares to another.

Comparison method: Percentage = part ÷ whole × 100. Percentage of value = value × percentage ÷ 100.

Worked example

25 out of 200 is 12.5%. 15% of 200 is 30.

Common mistakes
  • Dividing by the part instead of the whole.
  • Forgetting to multiply by 100.
  • Comparing percentages with different base values.
