Oven Temperature Converter

Convert a cooking temperature between Celsius, Fahrenheit and a rough UK gas mark.

Ovens vary. Fan ovens may need different settings, so check the recipe and appliance manual.

Notes and next steps

How it works

Convert common oven temperatures between Celsius, Fahrenheit and approximate gas mark.

Conversion used: °F = °C × 9/5 + 32. °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9.

Worked example

180°C is about 356°F, usually rounded to 350°F, roughly gas mark 4.

Common mistakes
  • Forgetting fan ovens may need adjustment.
  • Assuming gas marks are exact.
  • Not checking your oven behaviour.
